Pay It Forward Writer's Retreat - Charleston

Hi guys! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I know I did. I spent the weekend in Charleston, SC with a ton of authors for the Pay It Forward Writer's Retreat.

I'm a ridiculously slow typer/writer for several reasons. I have so many scenes in my head that I can't decide which one to write first. And I'm unbelievably easily distracted. Truly, I'm like, oooh, let's write, wait squirrel! Which makes it difficult for me to get a lot of words down. But, I actually wrote over 2,300 words this weekend, which is a record for me.

I'm on track to have the book to my beta readers in about 2 weeks from tomorrow (EEEEEEKKKKK!). That means I could be published as early as May 1, 2016! So, stay tuned for more updates as the time draws near.

I'm also looking into book signings for next year! So, stay tuned for book signing info!

I'm also planning on adding to my blog book recommendations for the week.

Here are my recommendations for this week:

Centurion by Julia Sykes

A World Apart (Shades Below #1) by LJK Oliva

Rescued by a Lady's Love by Christi Caldwell

Thank you all for your support!
Happy reading!

SWAG!!!

So here's some exciting news I just got yesterday! I was introduced to this cool writer's retreat in Charleston, SC called Pay It Forward. It is going to be a weekend spent with several amazing authors including the likes of Kendall Grey, Danielle Allen, Ella Jade, Lacey Wolfe, and so many more. I am over the moon with excitement about being able to hang with these very cool people and hopefully get some great writing tips. And the networking sure helps when you're a budding author trying to get her name out there. But now on to the stuff that you really care about, lol.

I gots the swag!!

Yes, I have ordered a TON of new swag that I can't wait to share with you all. Until it gets in both your and my hot little hands, you'll have to be satisfied with pics. So, without further ado, swag...

Bookmarks!!
(I love functional swag, but there are still those out there who love bookmarks and other paper swag)

Pens!!

Who doesn't love a pen? And while it's not purple (sad face, I know), its still a cool color that you don't see often.

And the swag I'm most excited about...

Book Totes!!
These ridiculously adorable totes will be given to you FREE whenever you buy a paperback copy of Secrets of Submission! How awesome is that?

So, come see me at the Indie Romance Convention (IRC) in October in Lebanon, TN to score some super cool swag! You can register at www.indieromanceconvention.com

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

I'm heading into a lovely warmer weekend here in South Carolina! I'm so excited to announce I have a ton of swag coming my way including mini journals, pens, and adorable book totes! The book totes I'll be giving away with every purchase of a paperback. Once I've designed my logo and get my bags printed, I'll post a picture.

Tomorrow, I'm meeting up with another author friend for a day of disciplined writing! I'm a super slow typist so I'm lucky to get in 1K a day. But that's my goal for tomorrow. 1,000 new words. Fingers crossed.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Here are a couple teasers for your viewing pleasure

Update: I've been plugging away at this book and I have some good news for you all. I hit 30K words tonight. I bet you're all like, ok, that's cool. But what exactly does that mean?

It means, that I might finish it ahead of schedule. Yay! I'm estimating that Secrets of Submission will be approximately 50K words. From March 7-14, 2016, I will be attending a writer's retreat in Myrtle Beach, SC. Originally, I was going to have the book to beta readers by the first week of April. However, at the rate I'm going, it looks like I might get it to them 2 weeks early! Which means, it gets to my editor early. Which then means, a possible earlier publication date! So, stay tuned for more updates.

Book signings

If you're in the Nashville area, I will be signing at the Indie (IRC) Romance Convention on October 6-8, 2016 in Lebanon, TN.

Go check out the event's website for more information, including a list of some of the authors attending, including Julia Sykes and Seraphina Donovan. This is a smaller convention which means you get much more one on one, intimate time with authors. It's a low key and no pressure event. And most importantly, it's FUN! Lots of parties and activities for everyone to enjoy. I hope to see you there.

Secrets of Submission
LK Shaw

Excerpt

A yearning to give up control…

After leaving a toxic relationship, Penny Stephens has spent the last several years rebuilding her self esteem. She’s learning to love her plus size body again. In her journey toward self discovery, Penny realizes what’s been missing from her intimate life: submission. But she doesn’t know the true meaning of the word. That is, until she meets him.

A desire to teach her all she needs…

Marcus Allen, an intense Dominant, is instantly attracted to the voluptuous auburn haired beauty. He is eager to show her how to embrace her submissive side. Relentless in his approach, he begins Penny’s education. He’ll spend his days and nights teaching her the secrets of submission.

LK Shaw shares her South Carolina home with a spoiled 45-pound beagle/mix who is constantly getting into trouble and who thinks she's a lap dog (she isn't). An avid reader since childhood, LK has over 1500 books on her TBR list (and more added daily) and says she'll be reading them until the day she dies. And still won't have them all read. But it's fun to download them.
